Why Podcast?
If quarantine and social distancing has taught me anything, it is my need for Jesus, family and relationships. I have heard (or read) quite a few people comment on their faith growing stronger this year, I pray that people continue to press in to their faith.
If you are a parent, you probably have experience with leaning into other parents for their wisdom and guidance in different areas of parenting. Perhaps you have had parents coming to you for advice; we need each other. Before COVID we would sit beside each other on a bench at the playground or chat freely in the lobby after church. Raising kids is not a cake walk and the right decision is not always clear.
As parents in this house, our first go to is prayer, but I have also consulted other moms and experts for advice many times. This year has changed the way our relationships look. We cannot continue to be isolated and islands to ourselves, we have to advocate for each other. This is crucial in a year like 2020 when families and individuals are responsible for a lot; education, raising kids, finances, running a house, keeping everyone healthy and maintaining a loving marriage. We need each other’s wisdom and prayers.
I really enjoy podcasts, I often have my headphones in while cooking dinner or folding laundry. My hope is that this podcast can join parents and moms together as if on the walking trail discussing potty training or the best recipes to try at dinner time. We are not perfect and we are not striving for perfection, but together we can advocate and encourage each other. There is enough negative out there, let’s build each other up!
